Social media is a cause of stress for the majority of business owners these days. Why is that? It has become a source of marketing that some have a hard time really tapping into. This isn’t because of any other reason than the fact that analytics are consistently changing, there are SO many different platforms you can choose to be on, and there’s inconsistency to know what works and what doesn’t due to the ever changing landscape of social media. Of course, this can definitely cause some overwhelm. However, I am here to tell you that there are many different strategies that you can, personally, use to still get your branding and message out there without causing too much stress.
As a social media manager, consultant, and more, I have the best job when it comes to showing business owners how they can take back their power and their heart in their social media through really showcasing their business through their own voice. Social media is meant to be space for connecting with your community and having fun with it. When was the last time you really had fun with your social media? That’s where we begin our journey, again.
Here are some top tips I’ve learned along the way to make the most out of your social media and really showcasing your voice.
Quality over Quantity
Your social media does not need to be something where you’re posting just to post. Create posts with a strategy in mind. Are you looking to create a call to action? Or are you sharing a testimony to showcase. Create thought provoking content to get your branding and message across rather than just posting to see what sticks to the wall.
Showcase Your Work
Your clients/customers love you! Why do they? Showcase what THEY love. Whether that’s physical work that you have done or testimonials, your work speaks for itself. Brag a little! You are amazing at what you do and your audience should know how and why.
Talk About Your “Why”
Why did you start your business? When was the last time you really thought about your own “why”? Your audience will always appreciate learning about your journey and why you chose this for your career path.
Create a Space for Your Audience
Be a safe space for your audience to express their opinions and interests. Create an environment with an open heart and mind and this will not only increase your engagement, but it will also create comradery with your audience.
Be Yourself
Your audience follows you for your expertise and knowledge, but they also follow you for YOU and the environment you create. BE YOURSELF. Let your personality shine through the work that you do.
