The power of consistency.

Consistency - [kənˈsistənsē] n.

Conformity in the application of something, typically that which is necessary for the sake of logic, accuracy, or fairness.

Consistency is something that I always stress to my clients. When it comes to social media and digital marketing, consistency is key. Why? Here are a few reasons.

  1. Brand Awareness.

When it comes to your branding, the more consistently you’re posting, the more you’re getting in front of people. That does not necessarily mean you need to post every hour, however, it is good to post, at the very least, three to four times a week.

  2. Education.

Social media is a great way to share knowledge. Each time you’re posting, you may be able to share a little bit of new information with your audience. If you’re doing this consistently, your audience will look forward to your educational posts about your product or service that you provide.

  3. Engagement.

When you’re consistent with getting back to your audience or interacting with your audience, you create an environment of consistent engagement. This, in turn, shows your audience that you’re reliable and available to talk about your product or service. This consistency may yield some business but, also, a good relationship with your customer/client base.

  4. Developing a Habit.

Being consistent doesn’t just help to build your audience and interact with your audience, but it also helps you to develop a habit of getting things posted, emailed, and created.

  5. Showing up for yourself.

Your business was a dream that became a reality. If you’re not showing up for yourself in your business, you can’t show up for your audience. What is your why? Why did you start your business in the first place? Once you find that, being consistent doesn’t become a chore any more. It becomes part of your passion project that is your business. Show up for yourself, and your dream, every day.

Your marketing is important for your business. We get caught up in the every day functions and, sometimes, that’s alright. Those are our growing pains. If you become overwhelmed, outsource your marketing. Find someone who can emulate your voice. Your business will thank you.
